Justin Fitzgerald has over 25 years experience of coaching at the high school and youth levels. He is currently the head girls’ lacrosse coach at the Flint Hill School in Oakton, Virginia. Coach Fitzgerald is very active in lacrosse at all age levels. He coaches and mentors boys and girls at the youth level as well as was an assistant coach to the men's World Finland team in 2014. Coach Fitzgerald has coached with many club programs including Advantage Lacrosse, Nova Premier and VLC. He has enjoyed being a part of developing many players into college level athletes and has placed at over 250+ high school girls and boys lacrosse players in Division I,II & III colleges. Prior to coaching at the Flint Hill School Coach Fitzgerald was the head Boys’ coach at Robinson Secondary School in Fairfax, Virginia where he was a part of five State titles and was named district "Coach of the Year" twice, as well as the 2006 Washington Examiner "Coach of the Year." Coach Fitzgerald is a former boys’ assistant coach at St. Albans School and Langley High School. As a player, Coach Fitzgerald was an All-American at Robinson Secondary School and played college lacrosse at Roanoke College.
Erin Anderson was born and raised in West Chester, PA and came to Northern VA to play collegiate lacrosse at George Mason University. A 4-year starter and co-captain senior year, she played defense leading the team each year in caused turnovers. Erin graduated in 2016 with a Tourism and Event Management degree. Now residing in Reston, she works in sales for Salesforce. Erin has coached the with VA Metro since 2017 and currently coaches VA Metro 22.
Danielle Vencak has over 15 years of coaching experience. She is currently the head coach at Colgan HS. As Prince William County’s newest high school Danielle has built the girls program from the beginning. Within two years, her overall coaching record is 28-7 with a 2018 Cardinal District championship. Under Danielle’s guidance, Colgan has produced 12 All district players. one District player of the year, 2 All Regional players and 1 All State. Prior to coming to VA Metro, Danielle coached at a variety of high level club programs. This includes being the Director and Head Coach of Nationally ranked Team Elevate Lacrosse as well as the Long Island Express. Danielle also volunteers to help educate parent coaches at Prince William Lacrosse to help foster growth and develop a learning model. Danielle played lacrosse at Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY.
Whitney Groseclose comes to VA Metro with 15 years of coaching experience at the youth, middle school, high school and travel levels. She has been a member of the lacrosse program at Holton-Arms in Bethesda, MD for the past 10 years and has also been involved with coaching for Next Level Lacrosse Club, the US Lacrosse National Tournament, and was previously the Director of Future Elite Lacrosse Club. She has experience mentoring players and parents on the college recruiting process and has helped to place many players in Division I, II and III programs. She focuses on not only the fundamentals of the game but teaching players life lessons that will help them off the field and carry them into adulthood. As a player Whitney was a four year letter winner and junior and senior Captain in both field hockey and lacrosse at Mercersburg Academy. After graduation she played four years of Division III lacrosse at Goucher College in Towson, MD.
Lauren Saffoori is a Philadelphia native where she played goalie for Temple University before moving to Virginia to become a Fairfax County firefighter. She has been coaching lacrosse for almost 15 years and recently started her own goalie training academy for girls, Lady Lax Goalies. Lauren spent 9 years at Centreville High School where she helped coach the team to 2 State Semi-Finals and a State Championship. In 2019 she graduated her first All-American goalie who is now playing at Duke University. Lauren currently coaches at Oakton High School, evaluates goalies for the Under Armor All-American Team and is the goalie coach at Prince William Lacrosse Club. She is extremely passionate about the sport and says that lacrosse will always be her first love. Lauren also has two small children who love to attend practice and learn from all the “big girls”. Lauren has coached with Virginia Metro since 2017 and currently coaches all of our Metro goalies.
Chris Morrison was born and raised in Baltimore. Chris has been coaching girls lacrosse for 12 years, 3 years with Herndon High school Varsity. Played lacrosse as a goalie both for Calvert Hall High school in Baltimore and was a 4 year started for Lynchburg College. Chris is still active and currently plays lacrosse on a local men’s team. Chris resides in Ashburn with daughter Brookelyn.
